RJ, now 11 months is about to be teething ... and is as cute as ever. She has also started riding a motorbike.
We caught up with Ev and Ki while we were in Toowoomba. Ev and daughter La have done a lot of work researching the family tree. They have reams of material and I took copies of some of it before we left so I can have a read through it later. I think there's probably a lot there ... it's not every day you find out that there is documented proof of your family going back to the days of Richard III. I have a bit of reading to do! It was funny because we hadn't planned to drop in our Ki and Ev and it was only because we were on our way to We's (going a different way) when we were driving past Ev was out the front of her place, talking over the fence with someone, that we stopped.
We had a BBQ with the family in the evening ... and our first meeting with baby Archie. But he is very cute ... I can understand why people do say "I want to eat you all up" when they're holding baby. And no, they didn't have to worry about that with me because as Tey handed Archie to me, I did say at first "no thanks ... I'm a vegetarian".
On Sunday morning, we noticed there were various planes taking off and landing at the airport at the end of Mum's street, so Mum, Tea, Mi, Ka and Co wandered down with the cameras to take some photos. Luckily I had enough cameras in the car for each of the kids and I have saved their best shots from the day and wlll get them printed up for them as a keepsake of the morning. Some of the shots weren't bad ... although Mi did get the best ones since she had the camera with the longest lens. Poor Co was stuck with the wide-angle lens which didn't give him a chance to get any close-ups at all, but he didn't do too badly. None of us managed to get the shot of the jet taking off - it used so much of the runway that when it did take off it was obscured by trees and houses. But we did see it when it banked around to do the loop. Next time we will have to see if they are doing joy rides in them ... that would be a wonderful experience.
