Tuesday

It's only a few days now until we find out if the sunflowers are still out on the Darling Downs.  We're taking a drive up to Warwick and Allora (out the back of Toowoomba) on Friday and if the sunflowers are there ... we will find them.  While we've seen the television reports of the tourists flocking to see the sunflowers as lately as last Saturday, M has said that she has heard that the sunflowers have been windswept and were no longer in a upright state.  While I questioned this at the time, I now realise that the report I saw on the weekend was most likely pre-recorded.  Noooooooooo!  Ah well, we'll go up there anyway and take a drive past Allora - the birthplace of someone or other quite famous ... it'll come to me in a bit.   And maybe there will be a sign in front of a house to tell us.
Did I mention my magnets arrived?  I love them.  They seemed quite large in the photograph on the website, but I thought that was probably just an illusion ... and I was right.  You can fit four of the magnets across the diameter of a five-cent-piece making them tiny indeed.  But there are 216 of them and they are ,,, magntuc ,,, and strong.  There is a trick to them ... you have to concentrate on not trying to move them individually - because they just stick harder together.  They came in to work with me and a couple of the girls had a go ... and then Ke and Am wanted to be hand models!
I have a feeling that the magnets and I are going to spend some wonderful times together ... it is very hard to think of anything else when you're trying to make a specific pattern out of individual items which do not want to be shephered into a shape.  You do have to watch them though ... two of them took off across the table by themselves yesterday to stick themselves to the Tablet.  Hmmmm.  And I know that if I don't keep counting them, they're likely to end up anywhere!  It's quite funny how many people ask "what are they for" ... when really they have no purpose except to be played with.
Oliver, the new bear, was with Sooz in bed this morning as I was leaving.  He's very cute ... and must be quite masterful as he has already taken over the prime position in the bed (as far as the non-animates are concerned).
I have started using my calendar again this year and was amazed that I managed to think my weekly coffee with Jo was today ... it's actually tomorrow ... at Zarraffas instead of Maccas ... as agreed last week.  I had seen that in the calendar but thought I had entered it incorrectly ... and changed it back to today.  I'll have to do a little better - and start trusting the system.   I have been doing some reading about BuJos lately and while I like the whole idea of doing a Bullet Journal - and the new Clarefontaine (finest writing paper in the world) book from OfficeWorks sounds as though it would be just the thing ... but you know how much I hate writing in "good" books.

I've very happy that it's going to be a short week this week ... so short in fact that today (Tuesday) is Thursday and tomorrow will be the equivalent of Friday!  Yippee!
