Coffee at Tedder Ave |
I am working my way through my list of jobs for the weekend and have managed to pop in a couple extra, including finding a 2TB drive I had somehow forgotten I had. Not quite sure how that happened.
Sooz has discovered the joys of binge television watching. She has just today finished watching "The Young Pope" - I think she started it a couple of days ago - if that. And she's already started on the next one ... "Blue Eyes"!
I'd posted a pic on FaceBook yesterday while Sooz and I were over at Hot Shott at Tedder Avenue and later in the day one of Sooz's "old" (as in previous) work colleagues commented on it ... and after a touch-base, we organised to meet up with her and her two children at Tedder Ave this morning. It was good to see her again - and to meet the younger of the children. We haven't seen the older one for years but at least we have met her before. It was their last day on the Gold Coast today - they were back off to Sydney this afternoon so this was the only chance we had to catch up. It presented a wee bit of a dilemma though - Sunday is The Markets and with Mi and Fl having flown out to Boston at the end of the week, I wanted to help out by doing the Coffee run in his absence. We made it to the Arts Centre in good time - along with just about everyone else on the Coast (although that may be a bit of an exaggeration!) - so there wasn't a park to be had. As we were starting or the second go-round, I suggested Sooz contact M to see if she was planning to be at The Markets ... and since she was on her way, I felt okay letting it go.
Sooz is still not well and based on how much she was coughing last night, she would have been lucky to get an hour's sleep - but at least she has "Blue Eyes" to watch.
We knew she was still not well last night when she said she was going to miss Chanting.
I was first up this morning and had the washing on before Sooz realised. The first load was just finishing as we set off for breakfast ... Sooz thought we could go to Hot Shott again, but I was in need of water views ... so we ended up at Cafe Catalina. And goodness, was it popular this morning! There was hardly a table spare - they were full of men, women, children and some of the cutest dogs. And that was nothing compared to the folk playing "Life Be In It" outside. M and Olga joined us for a coffee after breakfast - it was good to catch up since we had missed them at The Markets yesterday.
