Happy Birthday ...

It has been another busy week - I have been studying for my TAFE course, doing my transcription work, setting up the new Surface Pro 7 - and the most important thing of all - helping Sooz celebrate her birthday. That was fun and I am so happy that she liked her birthday presents including one I took a bit of a risk on ... The Pineapple.  Even Nigey likes it!

Next year I hope to be a bit more daring in my willingness to park not exactly legally.  If I had been at that point on Tuesday, we would have breakfasted at Le Cafe Gourmand, one of Sooz's favourite breakfast eateries, but since I could not find a park - and believe me I really tried - we ended up at Cafe Alfons - always good too, but not LCG.  The good news is that I have given Sooz a raincheck and we will make it down there again soon ... but earlier in the morning so we have a better chance of getting a Ravi spot.

There was no problem getting a park for dinner.  We went to a new place - Seven Brothers, in Labrador.  It is in the same complex as Frigg - but we have never seen it before ... probably because it is quite new.  Since folk are away, we did a small gathering, just Sooz, M and I.  We were impressed with the menu - steak, and you ordered your sides separately.  We had bread and trio of dips to start - and the bread was absolutely delicious ... just too much of it because break came with the dips as well.  Then, with our steaks we had the roast chat potatoes and appleslaw.  It's the most cabbage I have eaten in a long time.  None of us thought we would be able to manage dessert, but we did manage the lemon tart ... because he brought it with three spoons.  It was pretty yummy too.

It continues to amaze me that so many folk use FaceBook to pass on birthday wishes and it made Sooz very happy that so many folk did.  She enjoyed her SMS messages and telephone calls as well.  I think she ended the day feeling well-loved.   And she is.
