Sunday

It is definitely getting chillier and there was some talk today about whether it would be too cold to sit out on the verandah at Nerang RSL for their Trivia. It was touch and go for a moment there ... but some of us were able to wrap our hands around hot drinks in takeaway cups (they still haven't started using real crockery in the downstairs cafe since CoVid!) for the start of the game. For others, they put jumpers around them ... thoughtfully provided by Pe who had been given them at work and had offered to us before she took what was not wanted to Vinnies or Lifeline. Sooz scored a rust-coloured jumper and a green-jumper out of the deal. She decided she didn't need the red and white striped top - not because she didn't like the pattern but because it was made of a material she isn't fond of wearing. Too clingy.

I'd like to say we excelled at Trivia today but we managed only a 5th out of the 9 teams there ... we were off the podium by 5 or so points. I did note down the scores on a serviette but last time I saw it, it was still sitting on the table.

Before Trivia, I did manage to get one of the photobooks finished and away ... Birds. I was planning to do another bird book (we have one left to use) but I am now leaning towards a "macro" book with flowers and maybe some bugs. I will have a look through the "best of" pics and see what we end up with. It may still be birds. I'd best get on to it too because the voucher runs out mid-month.

Nigey went for a walk outside today - she put up a little resistance as I was putting the "hot horrible hairy harness" (4H for short) on her but given she was the one who jumped on the table when I called her (with the 4H in hand) I think she is finally beginning to believe me when I say "no harness ... no going out". She does seem to enjoy snuffling around out there and one of these days I will get the photo of her sniffing the geraniums! She didn't make a lunge for over the fence or under the fence today ... so points to her for good behaviour.
