Sooz and I are enjoying our morning walks down at the Broadwater and it always surprises us how different it is. each day. We are getting used to seeing the locals down there including Joe who we see at Pelicans - where we get our coffee and sit and watch people walk, cycle, scooter, run and swim by. It all happens down there.
We're usually home by 8 o'clock, ready to start the rest of the day. We've been breakfasting at home, except this morning when I talked Sooz into stopping in at Downtown Deli on the way home so we could pick up a couple of "the best bacon and egg rolls in town" ... and they were pretty good.
We had breakfast with M down at Cafe 360, at The Grand Hotel, on Saturday morning. It was very pleasant - as it always is down there, except for the new staff member serving us. He was nice enough but really in need of a lot more training, or at least attention to detail. He did know the difference between a Flat White and a Cappuccino (an advance over another local cafe) - just a shame he didn't know that they had been ordered by us. The table he did take them to sent them back because they weren't what they wanted - so they were remade and it was a while before we gave up waiting and enquired after our drinks ... but by then "they" were long gone and it didn't take them long to brew up fresh ones.
We had better service at Seven Brothers on Saturday night. Sooz said she felt like a "meat hit" and after debating whether to cook at home, we made an executive decision to re-visit seven Brothers for a steak and sides. It was great - and not just because we were offered complimentary entrées and desserts. We gratefully accepted the prawn entrée but passed on the dessert - there was no way we could have done it justice. We were pleased to see there were so many folk there on Saturday night especially since there may have been just one other table there when we were there Tuesday-week ago. Seven Brothers are/is doing a big marketing push including a loyalty program, a referral program and a neighbourhood letterbox drop. I'm going to do a TripAdvisor review and put something on the local Facebook group about them ... and, of course, we're planning to go back when we can.
