Saturday

Why is it that you can go along just fine, ignoring what feels like razor blades in your throat (gargling can only do so much) until the doctor takes a look and starts you on a prescription for antibiotics.  I'm not sure what was on that tongue depressor or why they make them from sandpaper or why you can't feel it when they scrape the back of your throat with one. The good news is that it's only tonsillitis - and the antibiotics should clear it right up. They hadn't worked by this morning though and when the alarm sounded at a fairly respectful 7:30, I ignored it (I'd only set the one) and didn't stir for another 3 hours.  Sooz was very patient and while it wasn't her tummy rumbling that woke me, it could have been!   Thank goodness we hadn't arranged to meet anyone for breakfast!
We ended up at Australia Fair - and after breakfast, we did a spot of shopping. Now I have started wearing colours other than black at work, the colleagues are keen for me to continue - so I was off in search of maybe an orange or green shirt... possibly even violet ... because rainbows are fun! Alas, no luck ... in that the shirts I had purchased before Christmas for $10 were now $50 knocked down to $25.  No deal! So I'll try Helensvale during the week ... it's a purchase that has to happen soon ... before the winter stock hits the stores!
If the rain continues at this rate (it did again last night), it won't be long before we have knee-high grass and need to arm ourselves with scythes and possibly machetes to get out of the yard. I know I've commented on this before but I now realise all those times M said she could hear the grass growing at Latimers - she was right! We hear it too now!
