Sunday

We made an early start for Toowoomba on Saturday morning. We had arranged to meet we for morning tea so we had breakfast at home and were on the road by 8, planning our arrival, after not stopping at The Girls Coffee Shop at Marburg (our usual stop), for mid-morning ... and we managed that. We ended up meeting We at her place where Ch was busy fixing her car. It was good to catch up especially as there have been some changes in her life since last we saw her including that she has moved back to Toowoomba ... and she is no longer engaged. She seems well enough in herself, which is great to see, but no doubt there is "stuff" happening below the surface.
We popped in to see Mum afterwards and took her for a walk around Clifford Gardens (shopping centre) and to lunch ... before heading back to hers - in time for We and the grandchildren to visit.  Those kids are just so cute.  When we saw them at We'd in the morning . they were showing us their play equipment tricks ... Ka was hanging upside down from the monkey bars and Ka was launching himself off the swing - landing quite heavily, we thought, but he has it worked out .... he lands, and then stays in the exact position he landed, obviously checking that everything is still where it should be.   At least Mi comes off the swing running!  Ka could learn a lot from her.
First up on Sunday morning Sooz and I made it to Macca's so I could make the Skype call with Tr - and then we went back to Mum's to collect her and then all went off to We's for a wonderful breakfast of hotcakes ... and we weren't the only ones who loved them.
We arrived back at Jannie in time for a quick shower before we headed into Broadbeach for dinner to celebrate Syl's birthday and to see them before they head off overseas. There was also a Casino draw in there as well and I'm sure Barbara Anderson is happy with her win! We ate at Zen and rumours are that we may not be having very many more meals there as it currently exists - something to do with a change of management - and possibly also staff. If the rumours are true that will definitely mark the end of an era.
