Tuesday

We were supposed to have big storms on the Coast over the weekend. I think we did get some rain but not massively speaking, although I think it made up for it yesterday. But it was good that we had done the washing (at home) and drying (at the laundromat) ... just in case.

"I don't use it" said the man at the table next to mine at Cafe Deliciosa today. Hmmm. He was talking about QR scans and checking in to places. To be fair, if you don't have a smart phone with QR reading capacity it is difficult ... and the problem comes when places don't have an alternative. His companion had checked in so I guess they're covered - and I checked in so if there is an issue hopefully the contact tracers will be able to put the pieces together. That being said, his companion started to show him how he can download an app on his phone to scan QR codes. Man #2 is cautious about his phone ... something about the Government and the tax man using check-ins to track you (down). Let's not get into that ... but I will have to update my diary since I do have an appointment with the tax accountant at the end of next week. It's been on my list for a while but they rang me last week to set it up ... so it must be time. But back to the QR code - several failed attempts later with a QR reader on his iPhone - he ended up using the camera which has a QR read capacity - it occured to me that the reason it wasn't working was that his phone had WiFi turned on but not connected ... so I suggested they turn off the WiFi ... and once that was done ... SUCCESS! (I do miss doing a good IT intervention!)
Trivia last night was a bust ... again. "Crash and burn" is seeming like a great name for the team at this point. We managed 39 out of a possible 59. We were grateful we managed to correctly correctly for the Who Am I from the cryptic clue on the second round (3 points thank you). We're still not satisfied with the general game play though ... the questions are just too hard for our team in this iteration and we are just not having a good time. It's hard to when you feel like an absolute dummy - well, that's how I feel anyway. I'm going to put a question out on a couple of the local FaceBook Groups to see if anyone knows of any other Trivias in the area and we'll discuss what's available - if there is something - when we go to Trivia next Monday night.

Sooz has been busy watching "High Teas" on the internet. That sounds like a series - and it could be - but I think it's just people having "High Tea" in various locations. It sounds like a great idea and we're going to have to do it sooner rather than later. Yumm ... yumm ... and yumm again!

And it was very yummy indeed - and plentiful! We collected M and Mouse this afternoon and off we went to High Tea at Bumbles Cafe.   We weren't sure exactly what to expect except there would be food - both savoury and sweet - on multilevel cake stands. Yes, yes, I knew what that food would be (more or less) from their website but the others weren't totally sure until it arrived. There was so much food we really didn't have a hope of getting through it all even though they had made sure we would have 2 hours in which to try. So, doggy bags (or boxes) came home with us. I have a feeling we'll be doing another High Tea soon:  there are lots of venues on the Coast to try.

When we dropped M and Mouse home, we went inside to say a quick hello to Mimi - who is as refined as Nigey is not .. don't get me wrong, they are both very cute (don't get them started about who is cuter) but Nigey would "boffer boy" you as soon as look as you ... and laugh in the face of the spray bottle.  Mimi, on the other hand, very nicely "shakes paws".  Yep, no way Nigey is going to be doing that any time soon!
MiMi ... looking cute.
