Yard play day
I have broken the $2 billion barrier on the Slot machine app I have been spending way too much time on. I would like to say it was through shrewd game play and astute betting on my part but really it's the daily bonus (okay, there may have been more than one of them) that made it possible.

We haven't been doing so well at Trivia though - and it hasn't been for lack of trying. We've clocked our third game this week - if you believe the week starts on a Sunday - because that's when Trivia is on at the Nerang RSL, starting at 2:45pm. We think it was better when it was held in the upstairs dining room: now they just cram us out on the balcony of the cafe.

Monday night is Runaway Junior Leagues Club (aka Seagulls) - where they have the Jackpot Round - now as high as it will go - at $300 -and, if you get the three Jackpot questions right, a one in three chance of the big one! We are excited!

Almost as excited as I am about my new trumpet. Thank you Aldi for having a special on them - and for having one still in stock when I finally managed to get there two days after the sale started!  I am thinking about taking some beginner lessons ... just so I can work out how to blow it properly ... getting the valves right for the notes is something I can practice by myself - in a park somewhere, far away from people and houses. I have a couple of things I am thinking about ... that motif from ET - definitely, and someting I remember from Acker Bilk (not sure of that name ... something about Strangers).

And while I'm going through music, I might find something that will help with the music questions they have at Wednesday night Trivia at the Runaway Bay Tavern.  It is "pub trivia" and you play with a buzzer and they gave you all the answers ... in that it's multiple choice.  It's fun too - and a good workout across a number of areas, and different sorts of game play - including Jeopardy, Fastest Finger First and Millionaire Ladder.

Yesterday was yard play day ... heh heh, I was going to say "yard day" but it came out as "yard play" ... and I do have to say that I enjoy it, working with the mower and the lawn trimmer (with the safety goggles on of course).  I am getting better at it I think, but I am wondering if our friends at Bunnings do courses on how to use a whipper-snippery-type thing to do lawn edging more efficiently.  Failing that I will heading to the interweb.
