Thursday

Oh my goodness ... where have the first two months of the year gone? A second ago it was the 1st of December!  And where is the first week of March going ... I started this entry on Monday and here it is Thursday already!

It was a full and fun weekend, starting with Dinner out at The Star Casino on Friday night. Unfortunately Sooz was a bit under the weather so she couldn't make it - so she missed out on a wonderful repast - and the Lion Dancers. I did video it for her but it's not the same as being there.

Saturday morning saw us driving up Tamborine Mountain - following perhaps the slowest driver in the area.  That turned out to be okay though because just as we arrived at Mountain Brew cafe, a car was backng out of a choice parking spot, and we took that. If we had been any earlier/later, we may have missed it ... and parking was at a premium ... almost as much as the tables.  It certainly seemed like the place to be on a Saturday morning. It was great Ro had made a booking.  The food variety was good and plentiful and while M described it as a "hot spoon" place, it was a decent one.

Post-breakfast we took a drive out to see Ro's latest sit.  She is looking after a dog, a cat and three horses this time on quite a large property on the Mountain.  We had an interesting drive over there ... there's nothing quite like windy roads, single lane either way, and a police car trying to overtake on a curve.  That was quite interesting ... because they were determined to overtake even though there wasn't nearly enough room. - everybody take a deep breath in and hold on!

We were also lucky enough to see a piano perched on the side of a hill - which we couldn't work out if it was a real one or not ... and even though it looked really convincing, it turned out to be a rock painted to look like a piano.  Top marks to the person/s who did it though ... and I'm just really sorry that I wasn't able to get a good picture of it as we drove past it.  It might be worth another trip up that way to have another go ... although someone else will have to do the driving.

And the weekend kept going ... Sunday was M's (substitute) birthday.  She is a Leapling so she actually doesn't get a "proper" birthday this year. We celebrated with breakfast at The (newly-refurbished) Marriott.  So this raises the question of "when is a buffet not a buffet".  Yes, since CoVid, buffets have changed.  The food is now behind glass and staff serve you.  The food was great, as was the company.
