The weekend

Dinner on Friday night was at Gemelli's which is at Broadbeach Park. It was a nice setting and good to try a new place for dinner (it does not happen often - we, like others, tend to re-visit places rather than try new places.) This one was recommended by Mi - and it was good; but we're going out on a limb here to suggest she has not been there for early dinner (say 6-ish) or she would have mentioned the thousands of lorikeets that roost in the trees in the Park, and that they can be quite loud until the sun goes down. I don't mind them - but was sorry I didn't have my camera with me to try to get some shots. The phone did a good job - of the Birthday Girl with sparkler, and the lighted Broadbeach sign - but it didn't have a hope with the birds!

Breakfast on Saturday was at Salt with a couple of new players, R and AM. They are "New players" in that they haven't joined the group for breakfast before but it was good of them to come - they live up the highway a-ways and they had to contend with a bit of traffic on the drive toth3 Coast. They were definitely ready for their coffees by the time they arrived! And they were ready for a cuddle and play with Blue too!

It is quite amazing to me how different folk bring different insights to the table: as well as discussing missing fraudsters, political figures on the news ("lying cow" remarks), horse event facilities and the pick-up speed of hybrid cars, we also played "what is that design on the top of my coffee" - and Ri won because she had a Phoenix. I'm not sure if she could see it but certainly those of us who regularly play cloud and tree "charades" could!
