More catching up ....

Now ... where were we up to? We'll get to that in a moment ... but first, the answers from last week's Trivia: Linda Reynolds, 1992, 1964.

On Tuesday morning we drove M to the airport ... she was on the way to Sydney, alas for a funeral for a family friend ... in fact, one of Mouse's oldest friends who they met before they came out to Australia way back when. It was sad ... and made more so because another one of Mouse's friends also left this world at about the same time. Mouse is 95 now and she seems to be getting frailer - and except for that she seemed to have a stomach bug last week - she is doing well!

I did make it to volunteering after the airport ... and, amazingly, I wasn't as late as I'd expected ... I even had time to call in and pick up a takeaway coffee on the way.
Wednesday saw us sticking a little closer to Jannie ... Sooz was a little off-colour (a bit of a tummy bug) so we didn't make it down to Kingscliff to see Ju as planned. Sooz was recovered enough to join us for Wednesday Trivia at the Runaway Bay Tavern though - and it was good fun as always.

Thursday saw us try Frigg Cafe again - we had stopped going there for a while because the food wasn't to our liking ... so we thought we'd give it another go. It has changed since last we were there ... they now have table service and, with Covid, they have one way in and ... well, they had to unblock the way out for us, but that was just because it was raining and the usual exit via the deck wasn't open.

I did manage to get out and about with the camera during the week ... and I am excited now that I know that my birthday present from Sooz will be here soon. We have been tracking it from the US - how amazing is it that you can do that!?! It's not often that I want to buy electronic-type thingeys secondhand, but the FT1 F-mount adapter for the camera Syl gave me just isn't available new ... and it has taken a bit to source one. I only decided to do it this way because we could get it through Amazon and I know their returns policy is workable if the unit is faulty. But if it isn't, it is going to be amazing! The Nikon 1 was their first mirrorless camera and it is a tiny unit compared to the standard Nikon DSLR ... and the pictures from it are amazing. The FT1 adapter will allow me to use my existing lenses on it while still retaining auto focus and other functions. Part of my time during the week was spent researching external monitoring (using my phone) ... and I have spent a lot of time on YouTube watching how other people rig this up.
At a local park with the Nikon 1.
