Saturday

We met Ri, AM and M for breakfast at the Quarterdeck cafe in Coomera this morning. Sooz and I have been there before a couple of times - but that was obviously before everyone else discovered it. And everyone else is very very noisy. But it's still a lovely location - even if a tad overcast.

I managed to find the right gate first time today - and I believe that now, finally, I will be able to find The Quarterdeck without the GPS. Hooray!

There was more hoorays too - because we scored an Easter Bunny and Eggs at breakfast courtesy of both M and Ri and AM. It was a lovely surprise but we felt a little empty-handed because we didn't have any Easter gifts to give them in return.

Ri and AM are off in a fortnight to join Syl and An and the rest of the Aussie Road crew for the next Beccy Cole tour ... this time around, we think based on the meeting place, central Queensland.  We are excited on their behalf not just because they're going on a Road Trip, but because they're Road Tripping around country we like very much.

I showed Ri photographs of the Lake Dunn Sculpture Trail (as visited by us in October) and she seemed keen to visit. I'll put together some notes from our trip for them - just a shame that I haven't finished the blog from the trip, otherwise I could have just sent them to the website.

Sooz and I went to the Botanic Gardens this afternoon - and arrived just in time for it to start raining - not too much but enough to encourage Sooz to stay dry in the car as I went in search of the egret I saw fly by as we discussed whether we would stay at the park or move on to the water somewhere. The rain stayed away enough that I managed a lap around the Park ... and I was lucky enough to find the egret.  There weren't any turtles out on their rocks today, though, or many waterfowl either come to think of it. Were they scared away by the rain? Or do they have hiding places around the Park?

The rain has continued since then, which has meant the lawn tools have stayed dry, and unused, in the garage. Hopefully it will dry out enough for then to come out and play this week. The batteries are already fully charged in anticipation.
