Wednesday

We are in lock-down across South-east Queensland at the moment - as from 6pm last night.  It's supposed to go on for three days - but they are going to review it on Friday morning to see if it will be extended. I wonder if an extension would do any good, especially since there are people - and not just a few of them - who do not seem to be following the mask rules at least.  In my short trip down to Chirn Park this morning to get some bread, coffee and a bacon and egg roll, I was stunned that so many folk were either not wearing a mask or wearing it incorrectly - no, having a nose hanging out the top of the mask is definitely not the right way to wear it;  leaning against a wall, sitting on your haunches with your mask hanging around your neck while you're having a durrie, also not correct; dawdling along the street, without a mask, nope; and not the next three people doing the same thing either.

I believe there is a penalty for not following the restrictions/rules.  I just wish there was a "dob in" service, because I would feel much better doing that rather than fantasizing about what ills might befall them for their possible stupidity,  lack of civic concern and/or general disobedience.  Grrrrrr.

Back at Jannie, I was a bit busy ... doing some transcription work and then some research into audio recorder apps.  That was fun!  I made some assumptions about the key features required and after trying out lots of them, I finally settled on two apps available on the Android platform (since that's what we're going to be using).  I've let Pe know what they are and asked him to give both a try and let me know what he thinks.  I've let him know that I do have a favourite and hopefully he will pick the same one ... not that it matters, either will do, but I'd just like to know that I was able to work out exactly what he was after.

I managed not to do any actual work on my courses today although I have been thinking about my Powerpoint presentation homework and what the components of that might look like ... there will be traffic lights or, at least, traffic light colours. I will be planning  the slides out on paper before I start the presentation proper. The topic: Saving Fuel. Which is something we'll all be doing through lockdown.

Nigey is enjoying having us at home all day - although that isn't stopping her from trying to get out every time we go near the front door. When she's not practising her Houdini tricks she's busy sleeping - on the couch, in her window box, in her penthouse (sweet), on the bed in our room - or perched on the window sill in one of the bathrooms watching birds, or hanging out in one of the bookcases. For an inside cat, she really does get around.

It's the end of Financial Year today so it won't be long before we can all front up to tax agents or log onto the ATO to get those tax returns under way. An exciting time of year to be sure!
