Monday

Well, even though there are many serious things happening in the world today, there are still people out there with a sense of humour ... as evidenced by the wind-up car I saw out at Nerang the other day.

We spent the weekend in Toowoomba ... and we were really looking forward to it too, because they are out of the zone where face masks are mandatory. We stopped in at The Girls Coffee Bar on the way up ... and they had a checklist on their front wall ... masks, sign-in, come-in. The breakfast there was as good as it always is ... as is the coffee.

When we arrived in Toowoomba we went straight to We's where there was a working bee in progress. We is moving out on Monday and the gang was there to help with the bond clean - includng a couple El and Co who were hard at work out the front on hoses and brooms cleaning windows. They were supervised, of course, but they still seemed to be having a top time. We didn't stay long - although we did help with washing the windows out the back for a bit.

Then we were off to pick up Mum on the way out to visit Ju. We went via the Autumn Moon as well ... it's been a while since we had their "Large Spring Roll" - which we were planning to eat in a park on the way out to see Ju at Highfields ... but parks on the main road were pretty scarce and we ended up pulling into a parking lot outside the old Weiss factory ... which, we soon found out, was adjacent to an off-leash dog park. There were a few dogs and their owners taking advantage of the area ... which was a bit surprising given how cold and windy it was.

CoVid continues to spread throughout NSW and we watched the 11am update on Sunday morning. I was relieved to see that they are not claiming that vaccination prevents you from passing the disease on to others. That seems to be a message which has been missing a little from reports ... and explains why it is so important for as many people who want to to be vaccinated are. It seems though that while it may not prevent us all being carriers, it can lessen the rate/s of transmission.

While Sooz was off at chanting last night I was watching a whole heap of YouTube videos on a new app I've found. It's called Flexcil and it's a PDF reader and annotater (it just means you can write on them and link your notes to where you want to in the PDF) which I think will be quite useful for my studies.

Trivia tonight ... again, I think we could rename the team "Crash and Burn" ... I know I've said it before but we really aren't doing that well at the moment. We really do need more team members with a broader range of knowledge. Ro is back with us at the moment - and she knows a lot, but even she wasn't enough to dig us out of our Trivia hole.
