Thursday

It was pretty amazing even though Sooz, Sy and Ma did not find it to their liking ... but, seriously, how could they not enjoy Black Widow. We sold it to them on the female component: characters, writer, director ... good strong women all over the place/project - okay, we may have downplayed the Marvel component just a little ... but we did say it was a Marvel film - and if they had been to any of the others they would have known to expect rough-tough-tumble-stunt-filled action. Anyway, the rest of us enjoyed it ... a lot. I am going to have to rewatch it though because I definitely missed something on the first time through - and not because I had run off to go to the toilet ... although I could have because I had checked "Run Pee" (an app) beforehand and knew there were three points where it would be "okay" to slip out for a couple of minutes. Because we were in Gold Class we didn't have to slip out very far - or for anything else as our choc top icecreams and coffees were delivered to us during the movie. This is a service we could get used to!

"There's bad news" Sooz told me when I arrived home today ... hmmm ... not a good way for any conversation to start. I'd been out doing bits and bobs and come home to get the washing underway so it could have a trip to the laundromat (and their drying machines) later in the afternoon. She had beat me to it though ... and that's where the "bad news" came in to it. Sooz had loaded up the washing machine, set it and turned it on ... and zip, nada, nothing ... and despite her troubleshooting, and mine, it would not grace us with power lights or action. The decision now is whether to get a repair person in or just bite the bullet and replace our 6 year-old machine. First things first though ... I'll see if I can locate the warranty paperwork and see if it's still covered. Let's hope (touch wood) that that's the only appliance that feels it's too tired to carry on. Mind you, we have given the washing machine (how has it made it this far without having a name?) a fair go in the time we've had it ... so it really owes us nothing. We've used it so much that the labels are no longer on any of the knobs!

Ah, I've just remembered, also giving up the ghost has been my bluetooth mouse ... it decided to stop working earlier in the week. I do have another mouse I can use, so it's not critical, but after a few more tries (I've changed the batteries and given it a bit of a rest and will now see if there is a reset button on it), it too may find itself going off to where all the non-working things go .... the garage. Just kidding, in this case I may make an exception and send it on its way to ... hmmm, what do you do with an old mouse? Would it be e-waste? Or landfill?

So what will the third thing be?  I'm hoping it will be simple enough to be my wireless keyboard that ran out of battery this morning while I was out and about.  Fingers crossed!
