Well for a moment there it looked like we'd be able to go mask-less from Friday morning but since there have been a few cases of CoVid reported in Queensland, all bets are off and we'll have to wait until next Friday to see if we have to keep wearing them. I was okay with the whole mask thing until today - I do love my mask but I was really looking forward to not having to wear it tomorrow. Better to be safe though. We'll have to check what other restrictions will continue to be in place - or what's going to be tightened up.*
Sooz and I are still getting up early and going down to the Broadwater for our morning walk and then a coffee from Pelicans. It is wonderful down there - and it's never the same two days in a row. We can't work out, though, why some mornings there are no pelicans around - and even fewer cormorants. But there are always dogs - and lots of them - and some are very cute. And there are their owners - lots of regulars. And one of those regulars was very cross the other morning when a bicyclist (no-one she had seen before) almost ran over Nikita (her poodley-type dog). I'm surprised that type of thing doesn't happen more often down there - there are a few dogs on long leashes and then don't always stay put, and the cyclists don't always slow down near people and pooches, or ding their bells on the shared paths.
Nigella was busy last night. When we came out this morning it looked as though she'd spent the night wrestling with something or someone. The only thing I can think of is that it could have had something to do with the box I'd left on her bed - she'd been playing with it during the evening - quite roughly at points - but she did seem to be enjoying it - and maybe learning about flags of the world since that was what was in it before it became hers.
* Update: since then I've heard it reported that Queensland is on the knife-edge of a snap lockdown. Maybe ... maybe not.
