Wednesday

Caps have ridden in the car with us for ages (caps, not cops), not paying their way ... but finally they are. They are the only things preventing me from looking like a total mad person when we go walking down at the Broadwater ... my hair remains untamed at the best of times, but bed-head hair is so much worse ... and the only way to get rid of it usually is by having a shower - which we don't do until we get back from the BMW (Broadwater Morning Walk) - so having a cap on makes it look like a fashion choice rather than a necessity. The better news is that neither Sooz nor I wear our caps backwards, or sideways, although, that being said, Sooz is discouraging me from wearing my Mary Valley Rattler souvenir cap - a la old-rail-road-engineer style. It does not suit me ... it does not suit me at all.

We continue to be amazed at how wonderful it is on the BMW ... it continues to be different every morning. This morning we were a tad earlier - and that meant we were able to watch the sun rise over the Seaway. The colours were glorious. We'll try for the same time tomorrow ... because even if it's the same, it will be different.

It is still a bit cold here in the mornings - and there was a lovely low fog over one of the parks we drive past on our way to the BMW this morning. As Sooz reminded me, when I mentioned the cool, we might think it's cold, but it's nowhere near as cold as it was in Toowoomba on the weekend, especially as there was a pretty chill wind blowing as well.

It was good to catch up with the family and RJ, now over a year old, is still not walking ... but she does have four teeth. When I say she's not walking, that doesn't mean she can't get around ... she is one of the fastest crawlers you can imagine ... oh, and just because she can't walk doesn't mean she can't climb ... we watched her climb up the steps on the slippery dip, swing herself around at the top, and then go down the slide. What the ...? As Sooz said, she probably doesn't need to walk yet because everyone gets things for her, so there's really no need to. For all we know, though, she's probably getting up and running around when no-one's looking!

It looks like we're finally going to fit in another episode of "Call My Agent" ... M is scheduled to come over tomorrow afternoon so we can watch it. It has been a while, but hopefully, between us, we'll be able to remember where we are up to in their story.

CoVid continues ... worse in NSW than it is here. The news today is that NSW is having its lockdown extended for another month, so the Greater Sydney area is going to be stuck at home until 28 August (at the earliest). When I spoke with TK this morning, she suggested that NSW - as well as extending the lockdown - was looking at easing some of the restrictions, so it will be interesting to see what they might be.

Here, the CoVid testing lines outside the Hospital and the Olsen Avenue pathology clinic are getting longer. I think, and I hope I'm wrong, that the mandatory mask restriction is going to be extended.
